One and a half hours later after leaving Codon Port in San Andres, Catanduanes, Mang Rey, our boatman, docked in Matukad Island. I marveled at the karst rock formation and explored the beachfront. We didn't go to the top of the rocks to see the lagoon and have a glimpse of a panoramic view of the island since we are short of time.
Approaching Matukad Island
Not far from Matukad Island is Lahus Island. We had to skip Lahus island due to the strong waves making it impossible for us to safely dock there.
Lahus Island
Next stop was Hunongan Island.
Hunongan Island
Across the island about two hundred meters away is Hunongan Cove. The still azure sea between the island and cove is perfect for swimming, kayaking and snorkeling.
Hunongan Cove
Not far from Hunongan Cove is Gota Beach.
Gota Beach
Since Mang Rey and his son have to sail back to Codon that afternoon we told him to just drop us off in Paniman beach.

Minalahos Island
It was already late in afternoon when we got to Paniman beach. Either we spend the night here, which has a marvelous view of the islands of Caramoan, or stay inland at Centro, the town proper of Caramoan, where most of the inns are located.
Paniman Beach
In Paniman, there’s La Playa Puerto Merced Camp & Picnic Grounds where one can just camp it out. We opted to spend the night here. La Playa charges a P300-fee for pitching a tent. The place is secured with a fence and well lit at night.
Although our tour of the islands of Caramoan was quick but getting there through Catanduanes made it a wholly different experience.
